Why is there a Proposition 65 warning on smokable products?

California Proposition 65 requires warnings on products that may expose consumers to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Smoke from combustion of any plant material — including herbal blends — contains such substances. The warning is required by California law and does not reflect any defect in the product.
