What is Biodynamic Farming?

Biodynamic farming was first developed by Rudolf Steiner in the late 1800s. Steiner was a highly trained scientist and respected philosopher. He developed the awareness that all of nature moves at a natural rhythm with the stars, the seasons and the ebb and flow of the elemental energies. By creating a system of farming that worked in sync with these natural forces, he was able to miraculously grow gorgeous and healthy plants with very little fertilizers.

Now, almost 100 years later, Biodynamics is becoming known as the “next level organic standard”. Not only is biodynamic farming cleaner and more beneficial for the environment, but it provides a source of food that is ultimately healthier and more in sync with nature. Biodynamic farms tend to be more vibrant with wildlife and the balance of nature.

stellar-color-500x500We are currently working with a few certified biodynamic farmers and are certified organic with Stellar Organic Services that is founded by Demeter the world’s leading certifier of biodynamic farms. Founded in 2002 and one of the oldest organic certifiers in the nation, Stellar Certification Services provides individualized attention and deep agricultural expertise to its members nationwide. When the USDA implemented the National Organic Program (NOP) to provide and enforce a uniform marketplace definition for the term “organic,” Stellar was originally formed to provide organic certification for Biodynamic farmers and processors.
