The Blending Blur of Herbal Synchronicity: We Are One with the Universe
Sometimes, when we’re least expecting it, we forget our expectations, melt magically into the moment, and become one with the Universe. Everything rolls into a ball as a raindrop gaining mass on its wild waterslide down the sleek surface of a window pane.
We become one with everything – the separate parts melt away, running together in a blending blur as everything interconnects in perfect synchronicity.
Ahhh – those are the moments we remember when we realize and experience the whole: We are perfect, just the way we are.
You can feel this way after a good herbal smoke, appreciating an amazing sunset, or washed away in glittery after effects in the arms of a lover. Everything is whole, pure, connected. You are beautiful and perfectly in synch with the heartbeat of Gaia.
The Earth is speaking all the time, connecting us to those hidden moments that exist between layers of time like an electron’s invisible radius. We are one. Are you ready to listen?
Everything Speaks Potency
Visionary writer and teacher Mac Macartney lays out the intoned nature of the Universe succinctly:
“Well, if the earth is alive, then everything is speaking to everything. Everything has potency. Everything has the capacity to heal. Everything is imbued with the very essence of life. There is no separation. Everything has significance. Everything is somehow part of everything else.”
The ground beneath your feet is a part of you.
The trees are your consciousness, your thoughts blazed from the very atoms that comprise the leaves, bark, and branches. It’s one big healing Universe, perfectly whole and completely renewed. Even the ants are a part of you, intoned with destiny, purpose, and a hungry drive for their role in this world.
The butterflies, worms, and gnats are essential actors in the drama of the living.
When you smoke herbs, you are celebrating this connection. You are recognizing your place in the natural cycle, perfectly in tune to the moment, at one with the Universe and breathing the light of the natural being.
That’s why we highly encourage an herbal smoke to be a part of a ritual. Go deep. This is spiritual connection, an opportunity to imbue the hues that enhance the ordinary. Breathe the breath of the Creator and become one with the herbs.
Everything is in motion – healing, becoming, fading, and being reborn again. Wholeness doesn’t mean flawlessness; we are already complete, even in our imperfections. Like the rolling notes in jazz improvisation, we are both spontaneous and intentional, blending into the larger rhythm of existence. Each of us is part of the ensemble, contributing our own sound to the harmony, just like Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue, where every note, every pause, and every imperfection come together to create timeless, limitless art.
Animal Spiritual Totems and the Birth of Wonder
If you’re a frequent visitor to our blog, you may notice that we often post about Animal Spiritual Totems. To name a few:
Why? What do our connection to the spiritual call of animals and smoking herbs have in common?
Plenty. Both are ways of connecting to the natural world, of becoming something that is both greater than us and part of us.
We believe in the power of serendipity – fate, coincidences, destiny, all rolled into one. Nothing is random nor by accident. When you see an animal in the wild, it’s something worth paying attention to. Animals bring us messages by showing up in our lives.
When you see a skunk, coyote, or a rabbit cross your path, stop and consider:
What were you thinking about just before your encounter with the animal? What sort of message could this creature be bringing us?
Animal encounters are one of the sacred ways the Earth speaks to us.
Each creature carries a spirit, a medicine, a message uniquely meant for us in that moment. When we attune to the energy of an animal, whether it’s the resilience of a turtle, the freedom of a bird, or the power of a lion, we align ourselves with the natural flow of creation. These encounters can stir our intuition, awaken our connection to unseen realms, and reveal the magic woven through our lives. In honoring them, we uncover hidden truths and possibilities we never thought were within reach.
These moments invite us to slow down, notice, and reflect. Often, they bring to the surface what lies in our unconscious, offering new perspectives or guiding us toward growth. In this way, animals help us reconnect with both nature and ourselves, opening doors to deeper understanding and transformation.
Spiritual Connection and the Case for Happiness
Recognizing the interconnected nature of the Universe is good for you. Carl Jung’s concept of synchronicity – the idea that meaningful coincidences connect our inner world with external events – offers a powerful framework for finding deeper significance in everyday life. Rather than viewing coincidences as random, synchronicity encourages us to see them as symbolic alignments that reflect our unconscious thoughts, emotions, or needs.
This perspective can enrich our sense of meaning by showing us patterns that link personal experience to the wider world, reminding us that we are part of something larger and interconnected. By paying attention to synchronicities, we cultivate greater self-awareness and openness to guidance, which can help us navigate challenges, affirm choices, and experience life with a sense of mystery and purpose.
We are not separate but one – threads woven into the same living fabric. Everything is connected, from the rhythm of our own heartbeat to the cycles of the earth and sky. The more we learn to recognize the magic already present in our lives, the more attuned we become to the wonder of the natural world around us. In that alignment, beauty reveals itself everywhere – in the smallest details, in the vastness of the cosmos, and in the simple grace of being alive.
Breathe in. Breathe out. With every breath, you draw in particles that once belonged to the moon, the stars, and perhaps even the birth of new galaxies. Your lungs carry the same ancient stardust that shaped mountains, rivers, and oceans. The Earth calls to us through this sacred exchange, reminding us that we are not separate but deeply entwined with all that exists. When we answer that call – through presence, gratitude, and awareness – we remember that we are part of everything that truly matters, participants in the great unfolding of life itself.
